A Catamaran style sailboat is a sailboat designed with two hulls that are connected in the middle by two crossbars holding up a middle section. On a Hobie catamaran this middle section is a trampoline which allows a person to sit or lay on while sailing. This also causes for a wet ride since water will usually tend to spray up through the mesh trampoline. This catamaran style sailboat is great for beginners and advanced sailors as it is a versatile boat that is not easy to flip over. Our Hobie Catamaran sailboats are built from rotomolded polyethylene(strong plastic) hulls which prevent damage when beaching the boats onto the sometimes relatively rocky shoreline. Each boat is fitted with a mast the holds the main sail. These main sails do not have a boom which makes it a safer option for sailing.
